A curated Retreat
on the border of Tuscany & Umbria.

Nestled in the rolling hills above the medieval town of Piegaro, We stay in a beautifully designed private farmhouse where refined comfort and natural beauty come together.

Perched among the Umbrian hills near Piegaro, we stay in a beautifully designed farmhouse where refined comfort and natural beauty come together. With every guest in a private en-suite bedroom, a chef-equipped kitchen, spacious living areas, and a serene pool terrace.

Surrounded by roughly a hectare of garden and woodland, this tranquil retreat is just minutes from Piegaro’s charming shops and cafés, and perfectly placed for exploring Umbria’s timeless villages and countryside.
Outdoor patio with stone flooring, two metal benches with cushions, a small round table, potted plants, a tree, and rolling hills in the background under a cloudy sky.
Swimming pool with three white umbrellas in a grassy yard, overlooking rolling green hills and mountains under a cloudy sky.
A dining table set for a meal with wine glasses, plates of food, and utensils, in a rustic outdoor space with stone walls, a brick fireplace, and hanging pendant lights.
A cozy bedroom with a bed, cream-colored headboard, and white bedding. There is a small wooden bedside table with a glass of water and magazines. A window shows scenic mountains outside, and a beige ceiling lamp hangs from the wooden ceiling.
  • We begin our journey in Rome, where we’ll gather for an espresso and corentto as a relaxed welcome in one of my favourite neighbourhood spots, a tucked-away gem that feels like home. We’ll meet for the first time and ease into the rhythm of the week.

From there, our private transfer will take us into the rolling hills of Umbria on the border to Tuscany, where our beautifully restored countryside farmhouse awaits. With warm stone walls, olive tree groves, and gentle rustic charm, the property is a haven of serenity. Wander through the landscaped gardens, discover quiet corners perfect for journalling or simply being still, or dip your toes in the pool as the golden light stretches across the hills.

That evening, we gather on the terrace for a truly special welcome dinner, prepared by our private chef, a multi-course celebration of the season’s best, from nearby farms and vineyards. Expect candlelight, connection, and heartfelt conversation. Each guest will receive a surprise gift as we toast to the days ahead and set gentle intentions together under the stars.

  • The day begins gently, with breakfast al fresco in the courtyard: flaky cornetti, warm bread still fragrant from the oven, bowls of seasonal fruit, strong espresso, and fresh-pressed citrus juice.

By mid-morning, we slip into the Umbrian forest alongside a local truffle hunter and his loyal dogs. It’s a grounding, sensory experience, learning how to read the earth, follow instinct, and discover nature’s most elusive treasures.

Our efforts are rewarded with a long, truffle-laced lunch at the winery itself. Each course is shaped by what we’ve just unearthed, paired perfectly with the vineyard’s own wines, savoured beneath the shade of olive trees.

The afternoon is yours: lounge poolside, nap in the quiet, or sink into solitude with a journal. As the golden light returns, we gather with my friends Luisa and her family at their Olive Oil farm closeby to take apperitivo and a light dinner on thier working farm.

  • After a slow Italian breakfast to awaken the senses, we set off for Deruta, one of Umbria’s most beloved hilltop towns, famed for its centuries-old ceramic artistry. Here, you’ll step into the studios of local artisans, discover their techniques and stories, and have time to browse handmade treasures to bring home.

From there, the journey continues to a sister-run dairy farm nestled in the countryside, where tradition and sustainability thrive side by side. You’ll be guided through their cheesemaking process before gathering in the garden for a long-table lunch, a rustic feast of cheeses, charcuterie, wine, and seasonal delights, all with sweeping valley views.

The afternoon invites rest and stillness back at the farmhouse, or, for those with energy, a gentle wander through the medieval town of Todi. As the day closes, we gather once more for a private dinner at the farmhouse.

  • This morning begins gently, with free time to journal, rest, or stroll through the olive groves. After breakfast, we journey to a dreamy flower farm tucked into the rolling hills of Tuscany. There, we’ll walk the rows with the grower, learn about seasonal blooms, and create our own bouquets from what’s thriving in the fields. It’s a morning rooted in nature, creativity, and soft connection. Lunch is served right on the flower farm, a joyful, garden-to-table celebration of what’s in season, infused with florals and the freshest produce.

Return to the farmhouse for rest, a swim, or a quiet corner.

Tonight, we roll up our sleeves and embrace the fun: it’s pizza night! Our in-house chef will guide us through dough-making and toppings before we gather for a laughter-filled evening, with our own handmade pizzas shared under the stars.

  • After a light breakfast and morning walk amongst the groves to gently wake the body, we set off toward Montefalco’s wine country for a truly unforgettable experience. My dear friend Wendy will welcome us into her kitchen and vineyard for an intimate cooking class. Together, we’ll prepare a traditional Umbrian menu, sip wine, and learn recipes passed down through generations.

The reward for our efforts? A long, laughter-filled lunch savoured among the vines, a celebration of connection, creativity, and shared joy.

Later, we return to the villa and ease into a slower rhythm. As evening settles, we gather for a relaxed dinner of rustic charcuterie boards and regional wines, simple, soulful, and full of flavour.

  • After an optional morning walk and breakfast, we set off for the rolling hills of the Val d’Orcia, a region that feels like stepping into a painting. Our first stop is Pienza, a postcard-perfect town filled with flower boxes, linen dresses, handmade ceramics, and artisan shops. You’ll have time to wander, shop, and soak in its timeless charm.

For lunch, we’re welcomed at a family-run, farm-to-table restaurant perched above the valley. Here, we’ll indulge in a three-course feast of fresh pasta, the dairy fresh from the farm, and organic wine, all set against one of the most breathtaking backdrops in Italy.

The afternoon is yours back at the villa whether you choose to read, swim, nap, or simply reflect.

As the sun dips low, we gather for a farewell dinner, a sunset celebration brimming with warmth, a hand curated menu, and memories shared under candlelight.

  • We’ll share one final breakfast together warm bread, strong espresso, and lingering conversation before goodbyes. Our private transfer will return us to Rome, but no one leaves empty-handed. We part with full hearts, new friendships, and the flavours of Italy still lingering. My hope is that you carry a little piece of this place home in the way you cook, gather, and move through the world.

Breathe in the beauty of Umbria and Tuscany.
